Di Lu, while not a human character, is a famous horse from the historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms. He is renowned for his exceptional speed and stamina, often described as one of the finest steeds of the era.

Di Lu was initially owned by Zhang Wu, a subordinate of the warlord Yuan Shao. Following Zhang Wu's death, the horse came into the possession of Liu Bei, one of the central protagonists of the novel. Di Lu is best known for a pivotal moment where he carried Liu Bei across the Tan Stream, saving him from pursuing enemies led by Cai Mao.

This act solidified Di Lu's reputation as a loyal and powerful animal. Some accounts also suggest the horse was considered unlucky for its owners before Liu Bei successfully rode him. Di Lu ultimately served Liu Bei faithfully and became a symbol of the hero's perseverance and eventual success.
